The Life of a Roaming Nurse Across Borders

About

The Nomadic Nurse

Hey there! Once upon a time, I was a proud ICU nurse at a level 1 trauma hospital, knee-deep in the adrenaline rush of the medical ICU. I worked through the pandemic, forging unbreakable bonds with the best work family anyone could ask for. But there was always this nagging desire to pack my bags and explore the world beyond the hospital walls. So, I took the leap, left it all behind, and dove headfirst into the unknown.

One of my favorite hobbies is learning languages. Over the years, I’ve found immense value in devoting time to learning foreign languages. It’s not just about the words; it’s about the connections and understanding I gain with every new language. This passion has allowed me to relate to so many amazing people on a deeper level, enriching my travels and my life.

My Diary

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Since I’m not a fan of social media, this is where I commemorate my journey. Here, you’ll find personal, real accounts of my experiences as a nurse serving people both in the USA and abroad. Dive in and see the world through my eyes.

Three of My Beliefs

Find Peace in the Small Things

Let’s be real—the so-called “glamour” of traveling and doing humanitarian projects is often overshadowed by the collection of small, meaningful moments. It’s the little acts of kindness and the tiny victories that truly matter, far more than any grand gesture or service. These simple, everyday occurrences bring peace and joy, reminding us of the beauty in life’s subtleties.

Your “Cap” is Self Determined

Our self-limiting beliefs are the only things holding us back. Trust me, no one is harder on me than myself. But I’ve learned that the only limits we have are the ones we set for ourselves. It’s time to recognize our potential and break free from these constraints. So, let’s shatter those ceilings and reach for the stars. The sky’s the limit when we believe in ourselves.

Invest in Others

True happiness and fulfillment come from serving others. Period. There’s nothing more rewarding than giving back and making a difference in someone else’s life. When we invest our time and energy into helping others, we find a deeper sense of purpose and connection. This selflessness enriches both our lives and the lives of those we touch.

Discover a world of possibilities

My dreams and aspirations? Well, they’re as big as the world itself. In the next 5 years, I see myself traveling through Central and South America in my trusty van, Poppy, with my girls (that’s my dog and cat). I’ll be stopping at local clinics and volunteering wherever I can. In 10 years, I hope to be actively involved with larger humanitarian organizations, working with refugees worldwide. And in 20 years? I’d love to have my own little organization, where others can volunteer and give back. Through all of this, I’ll continue to follow my passion for serving those who need it most.
